寺伝では天平年間(729‐749)「安積親王」がこの地に葬られ(729-749)、その冥福を祈るため、僧「行基」が創立した寺と伝えられています。当時はこの山上に「幡寺仏法寺」として堂塔や伽藍が建立されていましたが「元弘の変」のおり、その多くが焼き払われたようです。現在のお寺正法寺は1644年如雪文巌上人を招いて中興開山されました。宗旨は禅宗です。
It is said that this temple was founded by the monk Gyoki to pray for the repose of the soul of Prince Asaka (729-749).At that time, a pagoda and a temple were built on this mountain as “Hatadera-buppoji”, but it seems that most of them were burned down during the “Genko no hen”(civil war).The current temple became “Shoho-ji”, and in 1664, monk”Nyosetsu Bungan” was invited, and the momentum became active again.Its purpose is Zen Buddhism.
